![]() ![]() It’s a decent entry into Japanese whisky and could be the perfect summer afternoon whisky. It makes no bold statements but does feature some of the hallmarks of great Japanese blending. Excellent every day japanese whiskey that youre not going to have issues finding. Score: 84 Would I buy again? Not an incredibly complex whisky, Toki is a great set it and forget it sipper. Rating Details AVERAGE RATING 3.55/5 FOUNDERS 3. Suntory Whisky Toki ranks 6th overall in Japanese Whisky. Overall a light and elegant whisky that is easy to sip without being overly complex.įinish: Short and sweet with more vanilla, honey, and chili spice rounding out the sip. We rated it very highly at 3.55 out of 5. The 43% ABV helps with the overall mouthfeel and keeps it from sliding too far into its own simplicity. A quick flash of smoke provides late intrigue and depth. More vanilla notes – candy corn comes to mind - that are balanced with grassy, floral notes on the mid-palate. This whisky dances across the palate, with notes of toasted marshmallow and honey. Palate: Soft, light, and incredibly refreshing as it hits the tongue. The nose is rather delicate and well layered with ripe orchard fruits, soft smoke, cooked grains, and herbs mingling with soft spice. Earthy undertones or tree bark and leather are lurking in the background. Luscious honey emerges as it opens up in the glass. This unique blended whisky features malt whisky from Hakushu and Yamazaki distilleries, as well as heavy-type grain whisky from Chita. Then Vanilla sweetness balanced with a dash of chili powder. Nose: Floral, grassy, and herbal hits your nose first. ![]()
